Math 8th May 7

Tomorrow is your last test on Unit 7 Systems of Equations. Study your review sheet in great detail.

Be sure not to have lost your review sheet. IT wil count as 2 classwork grades!!

Have your scored 80% or better on your integer review Quiz. Retake until you do.(Check grade in Ique on Integer quiz) Students have been told if they need to retake. Help is available in homeroon tomorrow if it is needed.

How was your benchmark test score? Was your score above or below the class average of 70%?  The scantron and test paper was given back in class yesterday to have to review and study from if needed for future CRCT practice. Congradualtion to 8th students who scored abouve 86%. You did a great job!!

Acc Math I May 7

It's over!!! Thanks for a great effort on the Math I EOCT! I saw a lot of effort on the test. Have you turned in your Math I coach book and other practice book?

Now on the our last test! A list was given yesterday on what will be on our test on Friday, May 15. It will cover the last set of topics in our Great Quadratic Function unit. Be sure to work on complex numbers which is in your Math II book.

Math 8th April 28

Detail progress reports were given out today. No late work is being accepted this quarter. Did you turn in your quiz corrections from Friday?

Today we began reviewing for our math 8 4th benchmark. It will be given on Friday, May 1st.

We are also reviewing for our Unit 7 Test that will be given on May 8th. A study sheet for the Benchmark was discussed in class today.

Acc. Math I April 28

Math EOCT Test for Math I is Wednesday May 6th. Information sent home today regarding test. A Coach boook for Math I is being used for review for all standards to be covered as well as study guides from the state. Please study and review all handouts given in preparation for test.

Complex numbers introduced in class today. I will clarify if this is on EOCT test or just part of our unit on the great quadratics.

Have you turned in your CRCT pretest? It is a completion class grade for this grading period. CRCT Coach books may be checked out any time to study from.

Help sessions are available on Friday and Tuesday morning at 8:10 or during homeroom.

Great job on Great Quadratics Test 1. These will be returned today. Continue with you practice for CRCT. Have  the post test finished by Friday in your CRCT book.

Myskillstutor.com has practice modules on each of the five areas. You set your password yesterday.

Also can practice CRCT on line using using 9 digit SS number. Sec 3-9 on multiplying and dividing rational expressions: 2-16 even is due today. Today we begin adding and substracting rational expressions, Sec3-10

Math 8th March 26

 9 class periods left to CRCT week.  CRCT Boot Camp starts on March 30. See me if you have not singed up and would like to attend. Remember if you do not pass reading and math you are required to go to CRCT summer school and retake the test. Pre-applications for CRCT summer school are being handed out to"reserve" a spot. If you pass the test you application will not be necessary!

Practice is availabe on line at the Daniell website. Use your nine digit login(Soc. Security No.) and the password is education.  We will continue with our CRCT review every class period. The week after spring break will be all CRCT review. Don't forget: you may check out a CRCT Review book any day to be reviewing!!!

Unit 7 on linear equations will be introduced. then after the CRCT we will continue with the unit  then test on the unit. Homework is being graded each day!. No late work is being accepted! You must practice math to learn it and do well. Make the committment to do your work and do a good job.

Help sessions during homeroom any morning and extra time if you asked.!

Acc. Math I March 26

As  we continue  Great Quadratic Function unit be sure to stay up with you work. Yesterday you finished your quiz on factoring. Sec 2-13 Homework on taking square roots was turned in as another method of finding the zeros of a quadratic equation. Homework for Friday: Chapter 2 Test in book 14-44 even. Do graphs as asked and show all work used to find answers.

 Two more methods to go: completing the square and review of the quadratic formula. We will have a test next Wednesday over factoring, completing the square, quadratic formula, vertex and zeros of a quadratic equations.

EOCT test will be on May 6th. Both parts will be taken that day due to field trips by orchestra and chorsus. Review paskets have be given out for all sections of the test.

Don't forget to complete your CRCT workbook, Chapter 4 "Test" :17 questions over the Algebra skills. his section is about 40% weight on the CRCT.  9 classes left to week of testing. Each class period we will review another topic.  You won't be surprised by questions on the CRCT if you are doing you reivew questions.

Acc. Math I March 20

Did you have your assignment from Tuesday finished: Worktext 2-9 and CRCT review 21-23? About 5 of you are not doing your assingments daily.

Quiz Tuesday on Factoring. It covers all of the types of factoring from Sections 2-6 through 2-9. Be sure you have studied.

Also Section 2-12 on finding  the zeros of an answers on selected problems are due Tues. Complete lesson 24 and 25 in your Coach book.

Math 8th March 18

Test on Unit 6 on Friday. Study review sheet and handout on parallel and perpindcular lines.

Report cards will be sent home on March 19.
